5L MiniKeg Party Kit
Regular price £115.00
UPGRADE TO A KEGLAND CORE 360 FOR £25 EXTRA (WAS £35) - SELECT OPTION ON ITEM PAGE.
Great for parties or to keep and serve your beer in your normal fridge.
Works great whether you already have a keg system or are just getting into putting your beer in kegs. Can also be used as a growler to get beer from your local brewery tap room for take away.
This kit includes:
- 5 litre Kegland Mini Keg
- Ball lock lid with silicon flexible dip tube
- Beer out and Gas in MFL premium disconnects
- Mini charger (takes 16g cartridges only) UPGRADE OPTION (SEE BELOW)
- OPTION TO UPGRADE TO KEGLAND CORE 360 REG (instead of standard reg)*
- TAP depends on option chosen.
- 5x 16g CO2 cartridge
*If you upgrade to the core 360 reg you will be able to connect the reg directly to the keg via a grey disconnect when using the 16g bulbs included. For use with a sodastream cylinder (not included) we suggest getting a 1/4" to 5/16" push fit and some gas line (as the sodastream cylinder is much heavier and puts stress on the grey disconnect when connected to a minikeg).
Note - FOAMING CONTROL - the party tap, pluto gun and flow control taps will control excessive foaming but the flow control may foam a little more especially with very carbonated beers (such as lagers, belgians etc).
5L is the same as 15 330ml beers.
We also do MiniKeg kits that comes with a sodastream regulator.
We've had the standard MiniKegs before but never stocked many as the quality wasn't good enough in our opinion. These kegs are a different story. They look fantastic, inside and out the welds are smooth and sanitary.
The Kegland Mini Kegs are pressure rated to 45PSI (this is stamped on the keg). Most other Mini Kegs we have seen have no pressure markings or manufacturing standards printed on them.
We find that you will need about one and a half 16g cartridges per 5L to serve carbonated beer - more if you need to carbonate it also.
This regulator included is not designed to maintain a constant pressure over a long time. They are best used to "charge" a mini keg / growler to a certain pressure (eg 10PSI) then disconnecting after use. For a minikeg kept in the fridge they are ideal (it's what we use at BKT HQ for the 5l minikeg).
You can easily transfer beer under pressure directly from a corny keg using a keg jumper line (beer line with 2 beer disconnects on either end). This stops beer being exposed to O2 in the air which can make your beer stale over time.
Information from the manufacturer (Kegland Australia):
The KegLand Small Stainless Steel Mini Beer Kegs are specifically designed for home brewing/growler dispensing. They are suited to small batches and suited to people who want to fit them into their standard domestic fridges.
You can naturally carbonate using priming sugars or preferably force carbonate and serve your beer with the ball lock lid (also available)
The Mini Kegs are made so they conveniently fit into a standard domestic refrigerator. Due to the fact that these kegs use a flexible silicone dip tube/spear the kegs can also be dispensed on their side or upright so irrespective of what is the most convenient orientation in your fridge you can stand the keg up or lie the keg down and the dip tube will always sink and draw liquid from the bottom (as it's heavier than beer).
Unlike many other mini kegs these mini kegs use the gold standard acid bath electrolysis to pacify the stainless steel making the more resistant to rust than any other mini keg on the market. These mini kegs are the ONLY mini keg where we use a special technique whereby we weld the kegs from the inside out. This means we get a superior welding finish that is more sanitary than any other mini keg available. So if you are looking for the highest quality mini kegs that money can buy, this is what you have been waiting for! Although there are many other mini kegs that come from China simply none of them have the same quality and finish as the genuine KegLand minikegs.
