2002 - 2017
The science behind brewing
Jonny was a Science teacher for 15 years, teaching Chemistry to GCSE and Biology and Physics to A Level.
His love of brewing started during this time.
Brewing beer is essentially a combination of Biology, Chemistry and Physics with a little magic thrown in.
2011-2014
And so the brewing journey began
Whilst teaching Jonny started homebrewing - first with kits, then extract and finally all-grain. Jonny quickly became obsessed.
2015 - 2017
BrewKegTap was born
Having bottled for a few years Jonny started kegging his beer. A search online for some decent taps and replacement O rings revealed a distinct lack of options.
In 2015 Jonny started selling keg O rings and basic keg accessories on ebay as a side hustle. BrewKegTap was born.
In 2017, Jonny committed to BrewKegTap full-time firstly on eBay and then opening the website in 2018. Since then we've moved 3 times to bigger premises.
Meet the team
Team BKT love tasty beer and have a dedication to great customer service.
Jonny is the main technical adviser for brewing and kegging solutions. His science teaching knowledge helps to explain sometimes complex ideas to customers - often making bespoke solutions when someone wants something different.
Alan has worked in many public facing roles. He is our main customer service lead. If you have an issue with your order or need something special quickly - Al is your man.
Iain has extensive experience of getting the right products to the right people at the right time. He is our warehouse lead and is the reason why your orders are always accurately picked.
