FROM Castle Malting :

Château Wheat Black is the darkest malted wheat in the Castle Malting® range. This roasted Wheat malt will impart the same colour characteristics to beer as Black Barley Malts. Expect Château Wheat Black to bring complex flavours to beer, particularly those of intense roasted coffee, but as a result of Castle Malting's unique roasting technology there will be little or no astringent flavours carried through. Note that due to the roasting process, Château Wheat Black will not offer any of the traditional flavours associated with non-roasted wheat malts.
