35L Pro Sight Glass Distillation Lid - Steam Condenser Lid - BrewZilla - DigiBoil

£69.95 Regular price £89.95

Can be directly used with:

  • AlcoEngine Reflux Still
  • AlcoEngine Pot Still
  • Brewzilla Steam Condenser Lid
  • Any other still that can be used with a 2" Tri Clamp / clover port.

Specifications:
- Thicker Silicone O-Ring for a tighter seal
- 2 Inch Tri-clover Top Ferrule Port
- 3 Inch Sight Glass Ferrule
Includes 3 Inch PPSU Sight Glass Disc, 3 Inch Tri-Clover Clamp and 3 Inch Tri-Clover Silicone Seal

From Kegland:

Designed to be extremely sturdy when using heavier stills or off-center steam condenser units. Now you can watch your wash boil and see if it's foaming or about to puke. If you are brewing beer indoors you may want to use a steam condenser lid set, without having to take off the entire lid to do hop/salt additions, simply remove the 3" Sight Glass and throw in (take care when hot).

PPSU is an excellent choice for components that are exposed to high temperatures (up to 200°C) and corrosive media due to its exceptional chemical resistance. As well as being extremely impact resistant.
We have decided to use this type of plastic because it also has superior thermal and mechanical properties with the added benefit of being transparent. This will allow us to injection mold intricate parts that would have been near impossible to do in stainless steel or lab-grade glass. Because this is a very unique type of plastic, it comes at a much higher cost per kg than other industrial plastics. So much so that it costs more than stainless steel.

Brewing frequently asked questions

How long does it take to brew beer?

The time it takes to brew beer can vary, but on average, the process takes about 4 to 6 weeks. This includes the various stages such as malting, mashing, boiling, fermenting, conditioning, and bottling. However, some beer styles may require longer aging periods for optimal flavor development.

Is home brewing worth it?

Many people find home brewing to be a rewarding and enjoyable hobby, allowing them to create unique and customised beers. It provides a deeper understanding of the brewing process and offers the opportunity to experiment with different ingredients and styles. Additionally, home brewing can be cost-effective in the long run compared to purchasing craft beers. However, it requires time, effort, and a certain level of commitment. Whether it's worth it ultimately depends on one's passion for brewing and the satisfaction derived from the process and the end product.

Is home brewing legal?

Home brewing for personal use is generally legal, and there is no need for a specific license as long as certain conditions are met. Home brewers are allowed to produce beer, wine, and cider for personal consumption. However, there are limits on the amount that can be brewed without a license. As of January 2022, the limits were 100 litres for beer and 100 litres for wine per household.

It's important to stay informed about any updates or changes in the regulations, so it's advisable to check with local authorities or brewing associations for the most current information regarding home brewing laws in the UK. Always ensure that you comply with the relevant regulations and guidelines to enjoy home brewing within the legal framework.
